Not bad, got visa approved same day. This was my 7th year H1 extension, while I485 is pending, applied last year July..
Got appointment a month before. Consulate automatically checks for PIMS verification within next 2-3 days..I got banamex receipt made by Mexican assistance services, in fact there are many people / company willing to get this receipt made for nominal charges..
Drove to Nogales, AZ. Parked car in one of the parking lot. Cross border by foot through revolving door. No one is there to check any immigration paper for Mexico. People from India do need visa to visit Mexico but rule seems to be bit vague. To visit US consulate in Nogales, one can get local tourist permit (which can be obtained at POA in Mexico immigration. I got Mexico visa for 6 month multiple entry through local Mexican consulate in US. In retrospect, probably I wasted time and money for nothing..No one bothers to check any documents in Mexico, in fact I have look hard to find someone in immigration to stamp my entry in Mexico..
Anyway, got Cab for $7 to US consulate. Reached there at 7.30am. Appointment time was at 8am. But this doesn't matter as consulate will let all Mexican labor visa applicant to go in first (approx 150 of them). I stood in line for about 2 hours, finally got in at 9.30. Process was smooth from there on..got biometrics / photo done and then interview for 2 minutes..IO didn't ask much, just few simple questions..Didn�t even check any extra document. I was advised to come at 3 pm to collect visa which I did. (Spent 4 hours -11am to 3pm in nearby Nogales mall)
Got return cab to border. Took about 30 minutes get new I 94 made. Entered Nogales, AZ comfortably. Car was still parked safely...Returned home happily...Will continue to wait from GC, stuck in PD of April 2006 in EB2

Ur RD is dec21st.Now according to nsc processing date they r processing jan1st 2007 cases.So wait till next update if u didnt get before that u ask ur lawyer or employer to open SR.i dont think there is any paper work for that.They need to call and talk to IO and open.but i donno the procedure so check with quizzer.

yeah the meeting was really good..I got to meet many people but had to leave a bit early. For a first meeting (for me) I got an overview of IV etc and put faces to the handles I see in here. For future meetings I think we should
1) establish action items
2) find volunteers to carry out specific action items
3) set drop-dead dates for each item
4) find a conduit for communicating back the results /feedback from the implemented tasks (yahoo groups works fine)
5) list out our progress/obstacles/lessons learnt

We are currently restructuring the yahoogroups, we removed all bouncing and anonymous ids and making it extra secure. The idea is to make yahoogroups exclusively for local chapter activities and mobilization within the chapter.

My Job Title Matches my Labor Certification Title It was Software Enggineer Now it is Senior Software Engineering, But As I am in IT my old labor certification says about some old Oracle Technology but new job is J2EE and Also my Labor Certification talks about Financial Business Area but New Job is HealthCare Sector.Common thing are Both Says Design and Development of Software application.. Is it OK ?

I have been trying hard to get an answer for this question without any luck. My corporate attorney doesn't seem to have the slightest inclination on this subject. I would really appreciate responses.
My case details:
Visa on the passport up until Feb 2009
6 year term ending on Feb 2010
Date on I94 in passport is Feb 2010
I140/I485 concurrently applied on July 07
Currently have EB3 I-140 filed based on Substitute Labor at NSC.
Questions -
1. If my I-140 case gets picked up AFTER Feb 2009 (less than 365 days of H1 6 year term ending) and is denied (God forbid!), will I be eligible to file for a post 6 year H1 extension? Since this is Labor Sub, the labor doesn't have my name on it.
2. If yes for (1), will I be eligible for 1 year or 3 years H1 extension?
3. Can I file for a new PERM at that time and get an extension based on that?
4. Do I need to refile I-485?

my case was sent to TX office on 6/29 for 7/2 delivery and i checked online the receipt date was 7/31. dont know why. should be 7/2
but i got FP notice on 9/10 for appt dt = 9/25

Remaining in H-1 status provides what I think is a very important safety net. Even if you are 100% sure that there are no potential problems with your I-485, the possibility of an erroneous USCIS denial always exists. If there are any glitches, you will be in a much better position to wait for them to be resolved if you are able to remain legally employed in the US. Additionally, you are entitled to a three year H-1 extension which means you won't have the hassle of worrying about gaps in employment or travel authorization because of USCIS processing delays. Finally, remaining in H-1 status gives your current or future spouse the option of H-4 status.

I just received all the receipts for I-140/I-485/I765/I-131 from TSC.
As some stupid questions:
- I noticed a number above my name: A0xx xxx xxx. Is this an alien number?
- If so please someone explain since I have my PD on 04/24/2001 I never noticed this number (I might be wrong). It is something good or bad or what this number mean?
- Also, just to have an idea, after all are approved (hopefully without unexpected delays) how long until I have that plastic card GC in my hand?
- any small clue will be greatly appreciated.

I have several question regarding this number/quota:
1. Does that number (140000) include the spouse/all dependents of applicant ? or just the main applicant ?
2. I keep hearing of this 7% cap for each country, what does that mean ?
does that mean each country only have maximum of 9800 (7% * 140000) green card each year ?? or is it depend on the number of citizen of the country (for example citizen in India is bigger than Japan, so India will get bigger quota)
