This message is for people who posting against the reform bill, its just surprising how you all come to this country for better life .. and now complaining!! Just because you had better education and had a chance to go to college doesn't give you the right to look at others as less than you.
Yes, they come to U.S and might overstayed... guess what you might done the same thing if you wanted better life for your family.
The illegals came to U.S for the same reason you are here for ... Better life for their families and children. Just because now they have a chance to change their situation little bit faster than you do ... doesn't mean we should hate them and start claiming that they will bring U.S backward...... Just because of these people you have food on your table...
Its not their fault that most of Indian cases are in back log, you have a choice either be patient or go back....!

I realized that even I missed filling that field out. I filed my online application on 3/28/2010. Except for some last updates, I have not received any RFE yet regarding the missing field. The online system doesn't seem to validate that field.
sparky_jones: can you give us your write up to USCIS regarding this missing field information. What was in the letter regarding this field. I plan on sending a letter to them providing this information.

I too am surprised to see Philippines being on top of the GC Allocation when in fact only a few are applying for skilled categories in comparison to India and China. What you said about the Schedule A (nurses) now made sense.

I agree with Bestia but the only problem is finding a good employer and trusting someone. In this market everyone wants to take advantage of poor H1bs so kind of tricky to take any decision.
Of course it is. But several steps could be helpful. After getting an offer, meet your future coworkers, ask around, find somebody on H1b, talk to that person. See to what degree the top management is aware of H1b program. My CEO had no much idea about H1b, I considered this as a good sign.

I work for company A. I found a project for myself with X through another company B. (The end client is X and the middleman is B. My company A has contract with company B NOT WITH company X (end client)
I have an offer from end client X and my company is in the process of suing me in Virginia as I have a non-compete agreement not to work for client/end client or client's end client.
Has anyone come across such situation. Please help me.
I work on hourly rates and don't get paid if I am on bench. Can this be used nullify the contract as this is not legal on H1.

I've been impressed by Senator Graham's willingness to help move forward immigration reform, but this is really pathetic. my situation is similar to JunRN's. My RN position is with Union Contact. I got Prevailing Wage Survey in early July. By law I can only file I140 at least 30 days after sending the Union a copy of the petition, i.e., in earyly August. I also have similar concern that my PD will be in August.:mad:

Finally we got all the receipt numbers today. We (I and family) had filed at NSC on July 2; called USCIS today and IO said the data was entered in the system yesterday (Oct 29).. he also gave me and my family's receipt numbers.
This should give all of who are waiting for Receipt Notices some hope !!
I know its very frustrating; but be a little more patient is what I can say at this moment ..! Good things dont come easy is what I learnt from all this exercise..

The key will be to see what kind of congress we will have, before that, it is pretty hard to make any prediction. In any case, i remember this may when President George Bush and the senators met at the white house, he (the prez) told that he believe to have a bill by the end of the year, he never mention before election.
