Are people still thinking this is coming out next week? There haven't been any other updates since this story was released and I'm starting to doubt it's going to happen on Tuesday. I'd love to know what GPU the 27" is going to have.

If im eligible for an upgrade ill be there. Love my iPad :D.
I think it'd be awesome to organize an Orange County iPhone 5 run. When the time comes, post the thread, and we'll figure something out.

just sold my imac, but with my new Windows 7 pc I built I might be able to hold out until Lion hits. Maybe longer as my Windows 7 pc is pretty nice.
Yeah, if you are able to hold out until the Fall, that would be ideal as there will most likely be a redesign on the iMac then. Plus it will come with Lion and have Thunderbolt.

Nothing should have to remember such an experience. Not even a mattress.
Don't knock it 'til ya try it. ;) :D
And the same with opinions on what is good/bad. It's easy to take mick out of people who are happy to be fat or are into fat people, but hey... whatever floats your boat. All they simply are is different. I like ginger/redhead women. dXTC likes his women large. Donna likes food. Everyone is different.
Hear, hear!
That "ugly shapeless blob" you just saw in the grocery store the other day may have a loving husband and a couple of suitors on the side.
That "hot slender chick" you met in the club the other night could very well be the ex-girlfriend of a guy who's glad to finally be rid of the gold-digging psycho b***h.
Looks are important, but they're not everything, and they mean different things to different people. And isn't that glorious! :D

Would it be out of line for me to suggest that AT&T should hire an outside agency to determine what the normal dropped call percentage is in each market, and then offer those markets a monthly discount on their rate equal to that percentage?
I am in Southern California, Orange County area and would say my dropped call rate is around 20%. I spent some time in San Francisco in July and the service was horrible, my biggest problem was with data and the accuracy of maps ... which can be an issue when you're walking around a town like that and you've never been there.
Stupid question, but they don't already use an outside agency for that?
OT: I used to live in Aliso Viejo (OC) and had Cingular for my carrier. Over a 60 day period, the service got so bad in my house I could no longer make/receive phone calls. When I called CS to complain about the service, I was told that the contract I signed never states Cingular was required to provide cell service. I still don't know if that was true or not, but I dropped them that day and went with VZW.

Bought Reds National League Divisional Series tickets today.
Had to get selected in a lottery to even get a chance to buy them.
Now we just have to make sure they continue to play well.

Can't say that I'm surprised by this. In fact, I am actually kind of happy it has happened.

Wait, I thought the show was cancelled, then it wasn't, then it is, so what is actually going on?

I am not too keen on this "cartoony" 3D effect Apple seem to be going for.
Torn off pages faux-leather binding I mean doesn't anyone else think it is a bit corny?
It really does seems as if the cutesyeness of the iOS is spreading over to OSX.
I'd prefer a clean modern OS with usability first and foremost.
Screw the gratuitous eyecandy
Remind anyone of OS/2 and their cheesy waste-of-screen-realestate spiral binder stuff?
As a theming option, sure, cool, welcome to last decade Apple. If they're going to force these silly looks randomly per app, booo! But the Mac apps looking like iOS apps is inevitable.. in a few years they will probably all be 1 in the same.

So what are the stories on this site about cases for upcoming products? Are manufacturers gambling on leaked information? I'm just asking; not being sarcastic.
In this case I think Apple would as they provided bumpers themselves for the antenna issue. I believe they would want properly fitting bumpers for this version.
Anyway I think the size is still the same. The current cases should fit like white on rice.
Have you not seen the stories/threads on here about the guys that got arrested for leaking the iPad 2 dimensions? That's how those cases were made so early in advance. Here's a link: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1144385
Take a look at some of the bigger case manufacturers and how they had little to no cases ready (except for some of the cases that are a "universal" design) for the Verizon iPhone launch, like Speck, Otterbox, etc. In some instances, they lucked out and already had case models that would fit the new vibrate switch because the older design wasn't as precisely cut, but in many cases, they had to redesign completely.
Added: And if you remember the cases 2 years ago that made it all the way to some retail stores for the iPod touch that had a camera cutout in the back (a full year before the camera was even in the iPod touch), yes, some manufacturers do in fact gamble on rumors. In that instance, they lost their bet.

Surprising how heated the debate on this can get - I think it's a great story.
Boy makes mistake (as does mother, in not supervising him closely enough). The mother asks for help from Apple, and Apple complies even though they don't have to. The boy, and his mother are very unlikely to make the same mistake again - and the same holds for any parent reading this story! :p
Sounds like a win - win - win - win scenario to me!
Yes, but you are you missing the fact that this is an ideal opportunity for the armchair libertarians to wail about how intrusive the government is.

I was about to ask if somebody skilled with an image editor could do a mockup promo page from Apple on the "ix.Mac.MarketingName" -- and low and behold, here it is.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You rock kalsta!

Steve Gibson (http://grc.com/) (love him or hate him) reports that Vista's rewritten network stack, through the various betas, has been shown vulnerable to a number of the exploits that more mature stacks (e.g. BSD's stack, the one MS used to quietly use) have fixed over the past decade! It just seems ludicrous. And if someone wants to listen to it...
Security Now! 51: Vista's Virgin Stack (http://www.twit.tv/sn51)
Microsoft's Vista EULA says:
4. USE WITH VIRTUALIZATION TECHNOLOGIES. You may not use the software installed on the licensed device within a virtual (or otherwise emulated) hardware system.
This means you can't use the *same* installation of Vista Home inside a virtualization technology on the "licensed device".It still looks like they don't want you to install it on a VM if you have it already installed on your system. Still, that's up in the air and we just LOVE Microsoft.

Jesus christ. You presented your point as "obvious fact" then it was knocked back to pure conjecture, and now you've gone straight to whining that you feel disallowed your opinion, because *gasp* someone on the internet disagreed.
Grow up.
Fair enough, not fact but a blatantly obvious observation which by no means is false, as others have agreed. It may be difficult for you to put things in perspective, perhaps due to the strong emotion after watching what unfolded.
