i'm still new to macs, what themes(?) are you using to get the date, temperatures and current song on your desktop ? it looks amazing
those arent themes. the temp and weather are done by using GeekTool (http://projects.tynsoe.org/en/geektool/).
HERE (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=628023&highlight=geektool) is the thread on this site describing all the scripts that are used.
and the iTunes info is done by using BowTie (http://bowtieapp.com/).

You're right. Ideally they wouldn't need my info. In the grand scheme of things, I personally trust Apple more than I trust most other companies. I also expect to have a continuing long-term relationship with them, that includes person-to-person services in addition to sale of products. I also prefer to have a single point-of-contact I can use to sever any relationships I don't want to continue.
So for me it comes down to "who do you trust?" Apple has, historically, been very good about not subscribing me to mailings I don't want. They also never have sold my info (I know this because I use a different email address in a domain I own for every on-line business I do business with. From this I know who, exactly, sells my info. I just look at who my spam is addressed to).
There are quite a number of companies I trust in addition to Apple (a lot of local ones). I cannot remember to ever having received spam from Google (not that I trust them in everything but in this regard they have been good).

Does this change mean that we can terminate our contracts since the terms of the contract have changed?
I think sprint people have cited this before.

Someone call the WAAAAA-Ambulance..... The emailer is most likely an early adopter who feels cheated... So is this guy going to write to Steve Jobs every time he finds an iPad on eBay for $100 less than retail? How about 1 auctions?
Hah.
It will be satisfying as an abused/ex- mac fan to see Steve's latest toy quaintly arranged on a folding table by a tired old woman -- right next to beard trimmers and wine-bottle sleeves.

It goes to show you that they can still make a profit with $100 off. I guess the price gouging by Apple continues.
You're making an assumption, and an unsubstantiated accusation....

That alone would justify the damned iPad for me!
Wasn't Stargate (Defender) better? Also, help me out- were those Midway, and if so, did Atari own them?

well if apple is going to rely on sony for bluray then they will have to wait cuz sony is gonna use them all up on the PS3
Hay. PS3's drive is not BD-R drive. You can't burn disc in PS3. btw Sony have already shipped Bluray burners with their new VAIO.
Why announce the support of one standard now when there is another competing standard?
I heard that Final Cut Pro support HD-DVD workflow. Don't be sad. you can still buy an external drive.

Wow - it really is that simple
I LOVE apple.
Temps are up as I mounted 2 drives in the caddie under the 5.25 enclosure. Up to about 50deg.
The sata cards & HD's pump out some heat as well. Figure I might add another fan in the top of the case like this http://www.s155158671.websitehome.co.uk/quicksilverpage2.html to expel the extra heat.
The heat sink could maybe made more efficient. For class A amplifiers with fins running horizontally one trick is to drill holes through the fins vertically thus creating extra surface area (sides of holes) to make up for the loss in material and a chimney effect as the heat can rise through the holes. That or cut into the fins towards the base, again creating more surface area and chimney effect

From what I gather, it's just like LaunchBar, no?
I haven't messed with it a whole lot, so I don't know all its ins and outs, but it seemed to be doing a similiar thing (brings up applications/files as you type).
Not bad, although if they are the same idea, I prefer launch bar - just wish it was free ;)
Except QuickSilver is free.
I don't remember LaunchBar too well, I tried it about 9 months ago. Quicksilver has some really neat features. I find it *ESSENTIAL*

Thank you.
There is more misinformation and lies posted here than ever before. And way too many people believe anything they see "published on the Internet".
And people feel free to be as rude as they want, even bringing scat and other homosexual fetishes into a simple transfer of power to the second in command:
All the amazing benefits both with speed, less HDD space usage on a clean install, OSX in general (Darwin) and even server or core shells we owe to Bertrand Serlet; not this dingle berry kiss-arse.

Actually, its Blu-Ray AS WELL AS, not in place of HD-DVD. Both formats will be supported.
Maybe the software, but the drive itself may be only compatible with Blu-Ray rather than HD-DVD. Different wavelenghts and all. Could be wrong though, I just think that Apple might let you REAd HD-DVD, just not write....
Cheers

Only switched to mac since xmas, so I didn't really know what to expect from macworld, but I'm not best excited from what I've seen. I was hoping for mac upgrades, and was most looking forward to leopard. The itv thing is a neat idea, I just can't see it appealing to the general public though, what with everything you have to have for it etc. And the iPhone WTF? Don't get me wrong it looks GREAT, really exciting, everything about it seems right, but the price? It's a phone for christ sake, and its not going to be out in the uk until the back end of 07  . But seriously 499 in the US, thats like 350? in the UK, I've just bought myself a new phone for 100 and thats nearing the tops I'd pay for a phone, which in essence is all it is. A 350 iphone or k800i (3mp) for 180, I'll have the k800i please, its ridiculous the price of this thing, because which ever way you look at it, 350ish/$499 for a phone is too much and apple will seriously be limiting the user base with a price like that, compared to other phones, the majority of the general puiblic won't want to lash out that much for a phone, its just a joke... All IMO obviously
