Let's say if you have a visa till dec 2010 and passport expires by june 2010. If you go out of country now and enter US again, they will issue I-94 till june 2010 only. Now a days Port of Entry CBP are careful in issuing I-94 till the expiry of the passport (not till the visa end date).

My I-140 receipt date is Feb'20 2008..
My I-140 Approve date is Sep'24 2008
My 6 years H-1 will be completed by Jan'2010..but still my H-1 was denied..
Don't see any reason why you would be denied. You will have to wait for the denial letter.

I know what you mean... there is nothing to stop us from doing something else totally different from our job description once we become permanent residents.
That's just how the immigration law works... and I think it applies to all nations in the world. You can't say that you want to work as a carpenter when you filed your GC as an IT skilled worker (as an example). Like as previously mentioned, it would make the LCA stage pretty obsolete.
But I think it would be GREAT if we were all allowed to freely change employers (within the same industry of work) without being shackled by employer sponsorship. I am sure that would please everybody, except for the bosses of course.

Can someone please provide the format of the affidavit.
Other than the copy of your marriage certificate, pictures, children's birth certificate, etc., you can send an affidavit signed by a notary public, perhaps someone who works at the local municipality/city hall, etc. In addition, you should submit proof of joint financial holdings such as copy of this year's 1040 and state tax forms filled as "married filing jointly" (if you did so), a joint bank account, joint property ownership such as house and car, joint car insurance, home insurance, other bills (to show both of you are living at the same address), etc.
However, I would recommend using a lawyer (if not your lawyer whom you seem not to like) for preparing the RFE; I guess you do not want to suffer setbacks in your GC processing merely for saving $400!

your lawyer (and most of them including some famous on wwww) are dhakkan. They have no clue what's going on with vb. They just know how to fill some some form , that also they screw lot of time.

I had a couple of appointments in Detroit in the past two months. Got to meet with two different IOs, who were cordial. At least told me that I was pre-adjudicated. But refused to dis-close any other info.
Anyhow, got CPO emails for me and and my son on Oct 22nd. My spouse's case is at Detoir office. Planning to go to Detroit tomorrow, to see what's up with his case. Is there anyone, who got approval from Detroit office.
Detroit Infopass officers are laid back, if it is the same heavy lady you had to go to I sympathize with you. She was the most mean govt official I have come across in past 10 years. Her response to me was the details about my case cannot be discussed due to National Security reasons, tried ask another question and was abruptly cut to be asked to wait.

Just to add My I 140 approved from the first company.
You have two options in this situation.
1. File an amendment to the approved I-140 based on Merger / Acquisition
2. Once you got EAD, invoke AC 21 and can continue with your employer.
I was in your similar situation when my division is acquired and my attorney filed an I-140 amendment, as I do not want to use EAD. [H1 / H4 is duel intent and we can be still protected even if I-485 is denied! When we are not switching companies why to loose this advantage?]

I am working in company Vision System Group Inc (VSG INC). They are under USCIS investigation and involved in illegal activities. I sent many emails for Feb Salary, VSG HR ppl are saying you should ask new management for salary I (VSG HR ppl) am also now employee for Zolon. I talk to Zolon HR ppl and I told if I dont get Feb salary then I will complain DOL and file a case throgh attorney. Zolon HR ppl are saying Zolon' responsibility of paying salary is from March only.In reality VSG should have paid this salary already, we (might) pay but dont know when. You can file case and lets attorney decide. I dont care.
How should complain about salary to DOL should I complain against Zolon or VSG or both? Now there is no VSG. will I get success? Zolon might slip away by saying I acquired from March.
It is also possible Zolon and VSG owner might be relatives. and want to make money by not paying Feb salary.

This exact same thing happened to my package sent via USPS, I sent overnight and it still took 2 days to finally get in a person's hand, it was still on time to not have any negative consequences, but lesson learned, don't rely on USPS/UPS and don't wait till end, atleast have 5 days for mail delievery. I had nasty chat with my attorney to send my papers before he was planning to send, I am even planning to report to 'statewide bar association'. Lawyers knows ( or must know ) the importance of timely filling and its effect on families and their lives.
Hope things go fine and they do accept the application.

You can reschedule it as many times as you need. There is no limit. However, going by my experience, rescheduling third time will have the USCIS put your request at the bottom of the pile and it takes for ever to get the 3rd appointment letter.
Like in my case, go to a not-so-busy ASC (preferably in the non-urban area) and they will do your FP without a need to reschedule.

My spouse burnt one of the finger and has a blister right at the spot where we take FP. So I am not sure if they will reschedule her or not. When we got her FP notice , we made some travel plans after the FP date but unfortunately this incident happened. Now if they reschedule the FP then most likely we wont be here for the rescheduled date. So I was wondering if I can just take the photocopy of the original FP notice (as for reschedule , we will have give up the original notice) and drive to another ASC after the finger heals and try to complete it there rather than wait for the original ASC to send us the rescheduled date. Is there a way to find out which ASCs allow walk in and which I dont. I am based in Boston and so pretty sure Boston ASC does not allow to walk in. They go strictly by appointments. So I am hoping to some other nearest ASC.
Also as your family completed FP after your scheduled date and that too at another ASC, do you know what you will do when you receive the rescheduled appointment.
